I've never heard of a "half-nother" so why do so many people think it is okay to talk about a "whole-nother?"

I don't know, but I like it. The half-nother, the whole-nother, and the other-nother.
I agree. Scrimp is found at Red Lobster. Skimp is short for skimpy, like "My wife looks hot in that skimpy skirt." It's good we have these grammar moments.
